Shannon Paulk would be 33 years old had her life not been needlessly taken in 2001. Would she still live in Prattville, AL, where she was ripped from her family? Would she be married? Be a mother? Have a career?

These are things that we will never know, simply because someone out there had no respect for a human life, a child’s life. Now all we can hope to find out is…Who killed Shannon Paulk?

Shannon Paulk was a chunky little baby with a head full of black hair when she entered the world on May 8, 1990.

She grew into a very kind and outgoing child. She was a normal 11-year-old girl who loved to make new friends and hang out with neighbors in the Candlestick Park Mobile Home Community where she and her family lived.

“She never met a stranger,” Shannon’s mother, Marie Stroud, told Dateline. “She had a heart of gold and just loved people — all people. And everybody loved her.”
