Mayor Bubba Copeland said in a March interview with Columbus, Ga’s WRBL, “I always say, ‘We’re Mayberry 2023. “It really is like everybody knows your name. You know, everybody dies famous in a small town. That’s what it is. It is Friday Night Lights. It is mama’s apple pie. Our community is very, very low crime, very low drug abuse. Our number one problem is suicide. It is sad. I think a lot of it has to do with military. I think some of it has to do with social media and the reality of that. That’s the number one problem we have.”

Mayor Copeland had no way of knowing just how right he was.

Bubba Copeland had been mayor of Smiths Station for seven years, well-known for leading his city through the devastation that occurred last March when an EF-4 tornado struck nearby and the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Copeland was also the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Phoenix City and owned a convenience store. He stayed busy and had earned the respect of local elected officials.

It was recently discovered, however, that Mayor Copeland was also “Brittini Blaire Summerline” to the online world.
