David, I am glad that I read your article, even when the headline put me outside of my comfort zone. I see your point and respect it. I especially like the point made of "Support X Police Department", however...

I back the blue. My husband, as well as my brother are both police officers for different departments. I have worked for three different police departments myself. I worked in law enforcement for 17 years and have made friends in various fields and at various departments.

So when I "Back the Blue", I am supporting the majority of law enforcement, as the majority of law enforcement are good people who want to help their communities.

I realize that there are people who take advantage of their status and do not take responsibility for their actions. There are bad apples and they need to be dealt with, harshly. I despise Derek Chauvin and everything he stands for. So does most of the law enforcement community. He is a disgrace to the badge and I have not met one person in the law enforcement community here in South Alabama that agreed with anything that he did.

I know this sounds like a rant and I apologize. I did enjoy your article and it was very well laid out.
