I do find myself converting numbers in my articles to metric units for my non-US readers., since the US is the only flipping country that doesn't use it!

However, we write like we talk. I'm from the southern US, so my dialect is pretty distinct. If I'm writing a personal piece, I'm gonna throw some "ya'lls" in there.

Those differences to me is why I read! I love seeing a term by a writer from another country and looking it up if the context doesn't make it evident.
