I just feel that if you maliciously take the life of another, whether mentally ill or not, you should never be able to return to society. While I don't feel like those who have been deemed mentally ill should be imprisoned for the rest of their life, they still need to be somewhere that they can be monitored and not allowed to hurt anyone else. It doesn't just go away.
