You beat me to it Wade. You are absolutely correct. "Murder" implies intent. The officer did not put on her uniform that morning, kiss her family goodbye, and decide to shoot a youth before the end of her shift. It was a terrible, terrible mistake that happened, but it was a mistake. All of us make them. Police officers should be less so, but it happens. I can assure you that the officer is probably sick to death over what happened and is also praying for his mother, family, and friends. She is also praying for her own family as they will pay for her mistake as well.
